Recruitment for the Public Sector

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To be responsible for ensuring all Transformation Programmes develop appropriate transition management plans in collaboration with the operating business unit(s), delivery managers and internal and external stakeholders to address the identified impacts for all programmes, projects and change initiatives with transition management requirements.

  2. To work with Communication Officers to identify stakeholders and define the management approach to ensure on-going stakeholder engagement and buy-in to projects and change initiatives.

  3. To prepare the training needs analysis and develop the training approach to meet the stated needs.

  4. To coach and mentor any stakeholders involved or connected to the transition process, assuring the readiness of the business for change and identify associated risks and issues.

  5. To serve as a consultant for business transformation and change management methodologies and tools across the organisation.

  6. To ensure all key post holders defined in the transition strategy and plan are aware of their accountabilities in the change lifecycle

  7. To develop the transition management practice and capability within Digital Services.

  8. To work with the Programme Managers to ensure appropriate training is provided to all necessary to operate in the new environment.

  9. To provide assurance, coaching and mentoring to build a competent workforce capable of good practice change delivery

  10. To develop a Centre of Excellence for Change within Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police.

  11. To provide detailed Service Transition performance review for programmes\projects with the Senior Transition Manager, senior internal and external stakeholders/management.

  12. To proactively & effectively manage transition risks and issues.

  13. To participate in the on-going development and refinement of Service Transition Management processes and capabilities within the Project, Business Development and Service Operations teams including Development of Service Transition collateral.

  14. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Security Level:

  • Management Vetting (MV)

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Knowledge:

  • ICT (Level 5) professional qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience in a similar role within an ICT service environment

  • ITIL foundation certificate in IT Service Management

  • Significant working knowledge of relevant ICT technologies, their use and application

  • Excellent all-round ICT knowledge, including proficiency in the use of e.g. Microsoft packages and service management tools

  • Excellent understanding of an ICT service delivery environment and its priorities

  • Good understanding of project delivery methodologies, tools and practices (EG PRINCE)

 

 

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting high priority and/or complex technical projects through the transition process and into support

  • Demonstrable experience in supporting organisations through the full lifecycle of transformational change initiatives.
